Community Groups

We have a number of different community groups that meet throughout the week at different times and for different purposes. All of our community groups are here to provide opportunities for people to share in fellowship together whilst being introduced to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other)

When: third Saturday of each month
Time:  3pm - 5pm
Where: Church building

Come and Meet Each Other in the hall. CAMEO is a great chance to get together and meet new people for an afternoon of fun and friendship. This community group meets on the third Saturday of each month. There is often a guest speaker.

Lunch Club

When: every Tuesday
Time: 12.30pm to 2pm
Where: church building
Cost: £4

Every Tuesday we have a Lunch Club that gathers to share a meal together. The meal consists of 2 courses followed by tea or coffee afterwards. This is a fantastic community made up of primarily elderly people who enjoy a time of fellowship and food together. Once a month we have a service directly after lunch club during which there is opportunity to sing hymns, pray and listen to a short talk.

St Patrick's Tigers

When: Saturdays every few months
Time: 9.00am (arrive 8.45am)
Where: parkrun

The primary purpose of St Patrick’s Tigers is to take part in 5K run/jog/walk matches against other local churches. These are held roughly every couple of months at one of the local parkruns.

If you would like to give a 5K run a go, please do join us. This doesn’t have to be at a match. Members of St Patrick’s run most weeks; our most popular location is Roundshaw Downs. Most of the courses are a couple of laps (so you can stop half-way) and it’s OK to walk some of the way. Alternatively, parkrun is always looking for volunteers, so if you prefer, you could help with marshaling etc.

In order to take part it is essential that you register with parkrun – you can list St Patrick’s Tigers as your running club, if you wish. You should also bring with you your parkrun barcode (assigned to you when registering) or you won't get a time. If you are running on one of the competition days, it is helpful to let the church office know in advance but you can just turn up on the day.

Please note that St Patrick’s Tigers is different from the other activities listed as it is not an activity run by the church. This means that St Patrick’s safeguarding policies do not apply and parents remain responsible for their children; please note parkrun’s requirements which include that under 11s must run alongside (within arm's reach of) a trusted adult whom they know.
